Rodger then moved to neighbours Coventry City on a free transfer where he layed down the foundations for a decent career in football making around 50 apperances for the Sky Blues between 1985 and 1989.
Graham signed for Luton Town in 1989 for a fee of £150.000 and made just under 40 apperances for Luton in 3 years before making his move to the Mariners in 1992.
Graham was a very competent and robust defender who made just under 200 apperances for Grimsby up until 1998 when his injury sparked nearly the end of his professional football career.
Graham was released by Grimsby just before the end of the 1997/1998 season and had a short stint at Mansfield Town at the end of that season and at the start of the 1998/1999 season. He then retired from football aged 33 after spending a month on trial with Hull City.
Town re-signed Rodger in 2000 as the clubs Football In The Community Officer. Graham stayed in that position for 2 years until he was promoted to the coaching staff and then to Assistant Manager in 2002 after the sacking of gaffer Lennie Lawrence and Assistant Manager John Cockerill. Paul has been the number 2 ever since serving 3 managers in total and also being the caretaker manager on 2 occasions, his first solo game was the 6-1 home win over Barnsley which nearly landed him the job however that was given to Nicky Law in the end. But it is of his defensive abilities that has earned him the title of a Cult Hero.
