Kingsley for Grimsby!
Nippy midfielder who has caps for Northern Ireland International team. A short experienced well travelled player with tons of skill.

Kingsley started his professional career of with Luton Town back in 1986. He proved to be a tricky customer in his early days straight away using his lack of height and his pace to manoveur round midfield as much as he wanted.

After making around 200 apperances for Luton, Kingsley was signed by Nottingham Forest manager Brian Clough in September 1991 for £1.5 million and became an instant hit at the City Ground, despite not being a regular Kingsley settled in at Nottingham and stayed there until 1996.

Kingsley played Division 1 and Premiership football for Forest and along with fellow ex-Mariners Steve Chettle and Jason Lee was part of the side that managed a 3rd place in the Premiership in the 1994/1995 season.

While with Forest, Black was loaned out twice making 13 apperances for Sheffield United and 4 apperances for Millwall before his departure to Grimsby Town in July 1996 for £25,000.
Kingsley for Luton!

Kingsley was an active member for Town in the merky 96/97 season which saw the club relegated to Division 2, he struggled at first but made itr up the following season.

Black netted the first goal in Towns 2-1 victory over AFC Bournemouth in the 1997/1998 Auto Windscreen Shield final at Wembley Stadium and after that goal it made him a true Town hero.

Kingsley was a regular for Town for the next two seasons but started to lose his grip on his regular place in the later months of the 1999/2000 season with the break through of Alan Pouton especially.

The following season Black made only 7 apperances for Town and was farmed out on loan to locals Lincoln City for 1 month. Black was transfer listed however Lincoln could not afford the asking price and backed down on attempting to sign him.

Black spent the rest of the season either injured or playing reserve team football or just training with the team, he was never involved in any Town games since mid September and played his last game of the season on the 4th November in Lincolns 1-1 home draw with Chesterfield.

Almost straight away as the season ended Black was released and straight away was lured to sign a contract at Lincoln who were managed by former boss Alan Buckley.

Black made the most of the 2001/2002 season as he fixed himself in as a regular at Sincil Bank and even kept his place despite a drop in form and the club struggling at the foot of the league.

Lincoln survived relegation and Kingsley was kept on for the 2002/2003 season under Keith Alexander. Black played in the first game of the season coming on as a sub in the 85th minute in the 3-0 home win over Macclesfield, and after that he was not included in the first team.

Kingsley was released in October 2002 and after a few trials at Non-League clubs he retired from playing football. The last we knew of him was a trial at Lincoln United(Unibond Division 1, at the time)and that was at Christmas time in 2002. Kingsley will always remind of us of that 97/98 season for the rest of our lives.
