Crowe is already ruled out of the Peterborough, Wycombe and Plymouth games after his red card against Bournemouth.
This latest setback will now mean the former Portsmouth man will be available for just one of the next five games, the Boxing Day clash with Oldham.
The Football League have contacted Town to inform them that Crowe has picked up five bookings this season and therefore is suspended for one game.
The assumption was that Crowe had only four yellow cards to his name, the mystery fifth booking came in the 2-1 home defeat to Port Vale, back in August. Crowe was booked for encroachment, although it was reported that it was loan striker Laurens Ten Heuvel who picked up the caution.
Crowe's absence means that Des Hamilton and Alan Pouton are likely to get to play as a pair for the first time.
