Wheeler who has spent a year and a half as an un-used Town first team member was released yesterday and almost straight away was snapped up by his former loan club.
Wheeler also played at non league minnows Ossett Town this season in a short loan spell however the powerhouse 20 year old has opted for a the much bigger non league team.
Wheeler was expected to train with The Mariners still to keep his fitness up until he found a new club, however it looks like he will go straight into the Barrow defence for the weekends round of games.
