Boulding got the 80th minute goal in the 1-0 win over QPR on Saturday, a game in which Town finally looked like they was ready to gel.
With Town failing to convince in the league so far, Boulding has warned that now is the time to climb the table.
Our league form has been disappointing because we're playing great for two games, then we lose. If we can focus on some consistency we can climb the table," Boulding told the Grimsby Telegraph.
"There aren't many points between us and the top six. I think we should be right up there. With the points we've given away in games we'd be up there.
"But you only deserve to be up there if you're winning games and we haven't been winning enough.
"This was a fantastic win and some of the best football we've played this season. If we keep creating chances like that we know we're going to score. We need to knuckle down and do ourselves justice in the league."
