Doninger played for Albion's reserves in the Birmingham Senior Cup on Tuesday night and Brewers boss Paul Peschisolido is keen to have another look at the player.
"The game was played in a mudbath, so it was difficult to make a judgement," said the Canadian.
"Hopefully he'll be able to train with us and play again in the reserves in conditions that lend themselves to a better assessment."
