It was the 20-year-old's first goal for the club since signing on lone from Leicester City in January.
He told the Grimsby Telegraph: "I was really delighted to come on and score the winner, but more delighted for the lads.
"They played their hearts out for the 90 minutes and it was just nice to top it off with a goal and help the team along.
"The lads are buzzing. It's a massive result for us and it's two wins in a row at Blundell Park. We made a top three team look bang average today and that's the quality we possess in the dressing room at the minute. So hopefully we can move on and build on this."
