Lincolnshire Council has chose the 25th January 2007 for the date to decide whether or not to let Grimsby Town Football Club build there new stadium and retail facilities near the village of Great Coates on the outskirts of the town.

The ground which is to be named Conoco Stadium was first drawn up in 2002, but over four years of meeting's and dispute's had led many to think that the project was dead.

Originally the 2004/2005 season was supposed to be the first season inside the new ground that originally was rumoured to be name the Coca-Cola Stadium. Ground sponsors Conoco Oil, who own a near by Oil Refinery on the Humber estuary have been in waiting since 2003 over the final decision to build Town's new ground.

The complex will hold restaurants and sports facillities such as a gym aswell as adequate rescources for the club's players. The ground originally was to hold 23,000 people but the ground will now hold only 20,000.

Many Town fans have dreamt of the new ground being built for a while now, and most think this will hopefully attract more fans and a higher pedigree of football to the club.
