The veteran stopper found himself with the suspension after allegations he told City fans he didn't care about the club and was there for the money.
Crichton told his story to the York Evening Press: "I've heard that I am supposed to have said I don't care about the club but that's complete lies.
"For somebody to say I do not care about the football club is a lie.
"I worked for the football club without getting paid for four weeks this summer. I travel from Norwich and have done 8,000 miles in my car since signing.
"I am away from my family and I am only on a basic wage. I could have signed for Sheffield United or Kilmarnock for four times the money and just sat there picking up my wage."
"I heard I'm meant to have said I don't mind if we win, lose or draw as long as I get paid but I came to York because Chris is my pal as well as my manager and, if I had said something like that, it would mean I am cheating on my friend.
"I was only asking our supporters to get behind the team and, if that offended people, then I apologise."
An internal inquiry into the matter is underway, until that is concluded Crichton will not play for the Minstermen.
