Town who seemed doomed to struggle under Graham Rodger were sat in an embarrasing 22nd place with only Boston United and Macclesfield Town below. But under new manager Alan Buckley, The Mariners have been un-defeated in the league and have only lost the one game against Northampton Town in the FA Cup 1st round replay.
Fenton told The Grimsby Telegraph "Everything is going well at the minute.
"Confidene is high, training is really good, everyone is buzzing and really sharp, so hopefully we can keepm things going and get up that table.
"If you lookat the games we have got in the next few weeks, it's all teams around us-Shrewsbury, Torquay, Hartlepool and Stockport-so if we can get a few wins then who know's.
"Eight points from the playoffs, it's not impossible. It's more than achievable with the players we have got here.
"If we keep playing like we are at the minute and grinding out results and scoring goals, then I think we have got a chance.
"Since the gaffer came, we have been playing some great stuff.
"We had a good away draw with Wycombe, that we possibly could have won.
"We had a fantastic game against Northampton in the first leg of the cup and we have had two wins since then.
Town now find themselves with Shrewsbury Town at the weekend.
