The youngster has missed a large chunk of the season so far with a groin injury picked up in a reserve game. Despite intial fears that Flash could be out for up to 3 months, the Doncaster born frontman could be back within a month of sustaining the injury.
Jonny Rowan and David Soames are both major doubts for the Chesterfield game and unless Phil Jevons' contract is sorted out or manager Paul Groves can bring in the elusive loan striker, Liam Nimmo will partner Michael Boulding up front. Gio Carchedi is another contender for the first team after an impressive midweek performance for the reserves.
Groves is keen not to rush Mansaram back into action to soon but could be tempted into putting him on the bench having pulled him out of Wednesday reserve game against Sheffield United.
Darren's been stop, start, stop, start and that's not helping him," Groves told Mariners Net. "He's been training and he was going to play at Sheffield on Wednesday, but we've decided to give him a bit longer."
