The Jamaican's have a good selection of midfielders and strikers to choose from but a lack of defenders.
Ford, who has lost his place to Mike Edwards in the centre of defence this season, is hoping a return to the starting line up will reignite the interest from the Jamaican FA before he picked up a hamstring injury.
"I spoke to my agent, he knows that both my parents are from Jamaica, so I've got a Jamaican background," Ford told BBC Humberside.
"He's told them about me and they said they were interested in coming to have a look.
"Unfortunately I got injured around that time, so they haven't had a chance, where it goes from there I don't know.
"It's going to be difficult to get back in the side and get playing again. If they're there and I perform then it's good for me."
