Chapman left Blundell Park for Boston in 2002 after failing to win a new contract with Town, despite playing a role in keeping Town in the First Division as deputy for Tony Gallimore at leftback and general utility player.
At Boston Chapman was soon installed as club captain but struggled in his second season and wasn't offered a new contract by Steve Evans.
Scarborough took Chapman on trial earlier this summer but after contacting Russell Slade he ended up training with Town and playing against the Boro last night in the pre-season friendly.
Croudson has had a one-year break from Blundell Park after he was released last summer. At York Street he failed to make a single first team appearance with Paul Bastock an ever present between the sticks.
Chapman will be hoping to earn a contract with Slade only having Ronnie Bull as a left sided option in his squad. Croudson may well struggle to earn a deal however. Slade has previously stated that he has no plans to bring in another stopper with Paul Fraser stepping up to the No 2 role after winning a professional contract.
