The last time the two met the game was postponed at half time due to weather conditions, and this is the re-match.
In the home leg, Town dominated 85 minutes of the game and striker Michael Reddy was the main culprit, failing to score several sitters. In the 88th minute Rochdale scored with there second chance of the game to give Dale a shock an un-deserved victory over a luckless Grimsby side.
Tony Gallimore returned to Blundell Park with Rochdale that day, and after a typical bad Gally peformance the "fans most hated player" was booked for scrapping with Reddy.
