Speaking to MarinersNet, Groves pointed towards yet another clean sheet as well as the crowd support and use of the weather conditions in the victory.
"Obviously we're through to the next round, we've got a clean sheet, and tremendous vocal support again, tremendous," he said.
Groves pleased to be in the hat
"You are a little bit concerned that it could have been a game of two halves with regards to the conditions. It was quite a strong wind out there, and I think we utilised that in the first-half.
"We pushed them back but you still have to carve out the chances - which we managed to do. We were somewhat unfortunate not to go in front at half-time, but we still felt that we could cause them problems.
Groves also praised his players for a result against on of the better sides in the division.
"I thought that it was a good performance today, very professional, very organised against a good side aswell," he added. "They grind out results consistently. The way that they play it's not going to be pretty and it's difficult to get it down and pass it against that way of playing football. You've got to deal with it and I think that the lads have."
