Town were out played, out battled, out thought, out everything. The best team by a mile won, credit to them.
Groves however begs to differ, instead he feels it was just a case of wonder goals winning the day.
"The first two goals we conceded obviously made it very difficult for us," Groves told the official site.
"The players' heads visibly went down after that. You've got to to take your hat off and say they were good strikes, but that has made it difficult then.
Groves: Score line was harsh
"We scored a decent goal and, if we had got to half time at 3-1, maybe we could have regrouped.
"But they got a bit of good fortune and went 4-1 up. They pushed us back in the first 20 minutes. And, once those two goals went in, our confidence was shattered. The score line was very harsh on us today but we have been punished severely."
Errr no, Paul. Port Vale were the better side. Stop the arrogance and at least accept that much. This was not about wonder goals at all, it was about a team who had a good gameplan and good tactics, not to mention passion in their play, coming up against a team who were just shit!
