Having impressed the board with his management of Conference outfit Scarborough, Slade was approached this week - with the blessing of the Seadogs chairman.
Slade has signed a two-year contract with Town and will no doubt be charged with a speedy return to the second division.
A problem will be the lack of numbers at the club, just six contracted players. Slade however feels that is an advantage, allowing for a clean sweep. I like this guy already.
Before Scarborough, Slade was Sheffield United and Notts County. He is also thought to be good friends with Neil Warnock. Right, we'll have Kabba, Lester, Tonge, Jagielka and Kenny on loan to start with......
