American Sagare arrived at Blundell Park last autumn from US side Portland Timbers with the intention of earning a contract.

A season long contract was his reward for an impressive two-week trial and under reserve team boss, Paul Wilkinson, Sagare made progress. Wilkinson moved Sagare into a strikers role after little impact was made from his left wing role.

His only first team game came away at Reading, with Town already relegated an experimental team was put out. Sagare struggled as the lone striker and no new contract was offered in the summer.

The 23-year-old returned to the Timbers and helped them move up the table but the temptation of another crack at the English leagues proved too strong.

The Shaymen are in financial difficulties but the clubs supporters trust found the cash to sign the winger/striker.

Speaking to the Halifax Evening Courier, Sagare thanked the Trust.

"If it wasn't for the Supporters Trust I wouldn't be here and I thank them for that," said Sagare.

"It is a great opportunity which I intend to take with both hands because playing in England is my dream.

"Any American player coming up would love to have this chance and I believe, at this moment, Halifax Town is a good place for me to be.

"I've had one season at Grimsby and made just one appearance, but I really want to break into this team and do a good job for them."
