The youngster started the game against Sheffield Wednesday on the bench, coming on for Darren Mansaram late in the first half. However his time on the pitch lasted just 29 minutes after he was carried off with a suspected broken cheekbone.
But after a medical checkup, it was revealed the player hasn't suffered a broken cheekbone and could well be back for the trip to QPR next weekend.
"Mickael has been checked out by the doctors and it looks like he has something similar to whiplash," Nicky Law told the Grimsby Telegraph.
"We need to have another look at him but are hopeful he may be back in training by the end of the week."
