The Mariners loaned Nielsen for 3 months from FC Copenhagen back in the 2000/2001 season and the player became an instant hit scoring 6 times in just over 15 apperances for The Mariners.
Nielsen turned his back on Town and signed permanently for Wimbledon later on that season having had the chance to leave Copenhagen for Grimsby. His affair with The Dons was to be short and the nippy striker soon joined Norwich City aiding the club to the Division 1 Play Off Final in 2002 where they were beat by Birmingham City.
Nielsen left the following year to return home to Denmark joining Danish side Brondby but left to join Aalborg after a season with the club.
However Nielsen is now a free agent, also do not think we will sign him because we have a better chance of signing Wayne Rooney, especially after the boos and grief the Pontoon Stand has given him in his returns to the Blundell Park with Wimbledon and Norwich.
