It was rumoured on Friday that former Torquay striker Martin Gritton could leave Grimsby for Bristol Rovers, on a short term loan deal. The Scottish attacker has had to watch in despair as he lost his place to Gary Jones, and then to see Jones and Michael Reddy gel really quickly to lead the charge at the top of the division.
Rovers manager Ian Atkins wants Gritton, who cost Grimsby £50k 9 months ago up front to partner Junior Agogo. Gritts has only 5 goals to his name at Grimsby, and only 1 this season, oddly enough coming against Bristol Rovers in a 2-1 away win.
