Introducing the.......Posh

One thing always springs to mind when thinking of Barry Fry's teams, different!

Whilst the Posh fans may hate Fry's guts, he's still seen as one of football's loveable rouges. His bubbly character has seen him collect a steady collection of fans over the years. Love him or hate him, he's entertaining.

Fry has done the rounds with Barnet, getting them promotion to the Football League in the early 90's before moving onto supposed bigger and better things with Birmingham, via short spell at Southend. There he enhanced his reputation as a wheeler and a dealer, players came and went in the blink of the eye. Success didn't.

Fry moved onto Peterborough in 1996 and has remained there ever since, now part owning the club - much to the, ahem, delight of the London Road faithful.

Fry has built a decent team though, in goal he's got the excellent Mark Tyler who has never got the recognition he's deserved. Experience is abundent with the likes of Andy Legg and Andy Clarke first teamers.

The Posh aren't short of pace either. Wingback Adam Newton and striker Leon McKenzie are not often outrun, Clarke can still move too.

This season things haven't started too badly, sitting just a point behind Town in the league table.

Team News

Marcel Cas returns from his one game suspension. The Dutchman is expected to return on the right wing.

Darren Barnard is away on international duty with Wales, leaving a gap at left back, Jason Crowe is likely to fill in although Wes Parker and Mike Edwards will stand by.

The failure to bring a new striker in means Jonny Rowan will get another chance up front with Michael Boulding.

Player boss Paul Groves is expected to continue in midfield with Chris Bolder although Graham Hockless could feature at some stage.

Win Odds - 8/11

Posh boss Barry Fry is without Nigerian defender Christoper Kanu, brother of the Arsenal frontman. Sean St Ledger will deputise .

Defender Mark Arber is a doubt leaving Fry with a defensive headache. A change to 4-4-2 may be needed if Arber fails a fitness test. Also doubtful is striker Leon McKenzie.

New signing Steve Thomson is likely to feature in the 16 after signing until the end of the season.

Reading midfielder Andre Boucaud has extended his loan deal and will start after impressing in his initial spell.

Win Odds - 3/1

Likely Eleven
Formation: 4-4-2 Davison, McDermott, Crowe, Ford, Crane, Cas, Campbell, Groves, Bolder, Rowan, Boulding. Formation 3-5-2. Tyler, Rea, St Ledger, Arber, Legg, Newton, Farrell, Gill, Boucaud, Clarke, Green.
Top Scorers
Michael Boulding (4)
Andy Clarke (4)

Boulding has still to hit his best for Town this season but is still putting the goals away. Last Saturday's blank at Bristol City was the first league game this season he hasn't scored.

3 of Boulding's goal's this season have come with his head, none from the deep runs with which Boulding established a name for himself.

1st Goalscorer Price - 5/1

Vastly experienced frontman who was with Fry at Barnet in the early 90's. It was Wimbledon where he made his name though after a move eventually worth £250,000 in 1991.

Moved to Peterborough in 1999 going on to make well over 100 first team apperances with 49 league goals to his name.

Star Man - Mark Tyler
Remember Me? - Jason Lee

Fine goalkeeper in his 10th season with the Posh, having started out as a trainee.

A one club man with just a loan spell to Yeovil as a spell away from London Road.

Still only 26, Tyler is well regarded within the game and is often subject of speculation linking him away from the club.

Best remembered for his 'pineapple' haircut featured on Fantasy Football.

Loaned out to Town in 1997 after losing form at the City Ground. The bit striker did well for Town, hitting 2 goals in seven games (five as sub). Rumours of an attitude problem were rife though and Lee has spent the rest of his career without regular first team football. Spell with the Posh ended in the summer after a free transfer to Falkirk.
