Rowson is the Telegraph's chief Grimsby Town writer and was credited with the 'Up the Mariners' campaign in 2002 that played a vital role in the Mariners avoiding relegation.
The relationship between the paper and club since then appears to have become strained. This summer the issued a statement slamming the paper for misleading the fans over the '10 new faces'.
Last Friday the paper carried a report that the club was opting against using Ambulances for games with a gate less than 5,000. This proved to be the final straw for the club who banned Rowson from talking to all club staff and stripped him of his press pass.
Today the Telegraph has featured the story and claim they are willing to rectify any mistakes or misleading items.
Chairman Peter Furneaux and his directors were thought to be keen to meet with Telegraph bosses. The Telegraph says, however, that no meeting will take place until Rowson is given his press access back.
