The two games in which Rodger has taken charge have seen a dramatic improvement in Town's play.
So much so that Peter Furneaux has promised to give the ex FA Cup winner more time to prove himself, adding that the board are in no rush to appoint a permanent replacement for the sacked Paul Groves.
We have had an improvement in form and were unlucky not to get anything last night.
"We spoke to Graham and told him to carry on. There is no point in putting him under pressure. It's a case of him showing us what he can do," Furneaux told the Grimsby Telegraph.
"We have had a lot of applicants for the post, but we never advertised - they have sought out us. We are not letting anyone down by not immediately taking one of them on.
"There are some good applicants - but we don't have to choose any of them immediately. There is no reason to panic.
"Graham has changed training sessions and is instilling his own ideas on things."
Whilst Furneaux's comments may seem to be a case of sticking with the cheap option, personally I think Rodger's entitled to his chance. The last two games have seen such an improvement in Town, personally I'm curious to see just how much Grezza can improve Town. And looking at the list of known applicants, we're hardly overwhelmed with top drawer managers knocking down the doors.
