The Town youth product is facing up to three months on the sidelines after todays surgery in Rochdale. Rowan injured the knee in the September home defeat to Swindon, just as he was starting to find his form.

The Tetney born frontman is in the final year of his contract and has previously said this is his 'make or break' year.

With a number of strikers now available for selection Rowan will face a battle to return to the first team once he's fully fit. The youngster is also realistic by confessing a new contract is not looking likely at this moment in time.

He told BBC Radio Humberside: "It's frustrating because obviously if I'm not playing I am not going to be renewed."
