Coldicott could only manage 45 minutes after almost a year out with a broken leg, but he brought back some much needed composure and grit.
The former West Brom man earned the praise of all, including his harshest crictics over the weekend. Rodger joined the praise, although in an odd manner.
"We needed to keep the game tight and I wanted my yard dog out there. If you come into Stacy's yard then he's going to bite you," Rodger told the Grimsby Telegraph.
"We've missed that type. We've missed it with Pouts and we've missed it with Stacy. I was prepared to play him for 25 minutes just to start the game correctly.
"I said to him that he wouldn't get past half-time and that he just had to get there if he could. I'd have happily dragged him after 35. He gave it his whack."
