Posh boss Barry Fry tried to sign the 13 goal hitman for £50,000 earlier this month, a bid that was flat out rejected by Town.
Barnsley have since stepped up to the plate and have attempted to sign Boulding, even claiming he was close to a deal - that despite not actually speaking to the player.
Peterborough's latest offer is described by MarinersNet as ' substantially more than an offer received from Barnsley'.
Therefore it seems that the infamous £45,000 release clause in Boulding's contract doesn't apply to clubs not in a higher division.
By rejecting this second, third overall, bid for Boulding the club have made their intentions quite clear. Boulding will be staying until the summer. If he signs a new contract remains in doubt though.
