Tykes remain confident over Mick

Town have already rejected an offer from the Tykes but it seems the Yorkshire club have returned with an improved offer that activates the release clause in Boulding's contract. No-one is quite sure if the clause counts for clubs in the same division, once again the club has yet to come out and give an answer on this matter.

Thordarson seems to think that he has activated the clause and is now waiting to talk to Boulding and persuade him to move to Oakwell.

"We put an offer in for Michael Boulding and his contract states that he will be available for any club who will pay that amount of money," Thordarson told the the Tykes' official website.

"We have put that money forward so now it is up to the lad to deal with things.

"He is now going to discuss things with the manager and the chairman of Grimsby, so we will have to wait and see what the outcome of that meeting will be.

"I'm hoping it will be sorted out and that Boulding can be my player in only a couple of days."
