Grimsby had Nathan Jarman sent off in the closing stages for raising his hands, and Woods admitted: "We go away disappointed again.
"It was a bonus to go in 1-0 up at half time as we never had control of the game. We expected that with the conditions behind us we would take the game to them after the break and score more goals, but it didn't happen."
Woods, meanwhile, blamed keeper Nick Colgan for Butcher's equaliser, and revealed: "Nick has held his hands up.
"He thought it was going wide and he has left it. It is a poor mistake. It leaves you flat as players. But I thought when we broke in the second half we created enough chances to win the game. But we are not clinical enough with our finishing."
