Woods said: "I'm massively delighted to get rid of the record that people kept chucking at me. It was a psychological hurdle that we all wanted to get over.
"I'm very pleased for the players. They all held our hands up last week at Dagenham when we were very poor. And they showed the reaction that every single person in Grimsby wanted to see.
"I thought we played with quality at times on a pitch that was quite lively. We did the hard stuff as well as the pretty stuff and I thought we thoroughly deserved to win the game.
"The players had been fired up since we went into training on Monday morning. They knew they let themselves down last week and what we now need to make sure is that it was not a one-off."
