Ten man Grimsby picked up a hard fought point at Adams Park.
All eyes were on assistant referee Amy Rayner after Luton boss Mike Newell's comments last week, but she couldn't have asked for an easier game as Grimsby held on for a draw.
Gary Jones opened the scoring for Grimsby in the second half before Scott Golbourne equalized, with Tom Newey sent off for the visitors soon after.
In a game that started at a snails pace the first opportunity fell to Kevin Betsy who found himself with time and space in the box after taking down a Sam Stockley cross, Betsy wasted the chance though after he paused to and was easily tackled.
A moment of class almost gave Grimsby an early lead though when Danny North hit a first time volley just wide of Ricardo Batista's goal.
Grimsby carried on that momentum and North had another good chance from a free kick 20 yards from goal, but his tame effort did little to worry Batista.
The lively North then had his third chance in quick succession on 22 minutes when he found himself one-on-one with Batista, but from a tight angle he couldn't get enough pace on the shot and his effort was well saved.
The first real chance of the game came on 29 minutes, Tommy Mooney headed a Matt Bloomfield cross into the path of Jermaine Easter but the striker couldn't aim his header on target under pressure from five yards.
Danny Boshell should have given Grimsby the lead on 35 minutes, he took down Paul Bolland's long ball well on his chest after Golbourne found himself out of position. With time and space in abundance though, he flashed his shot wide of the far post.
Wycombe improved and started to impose themselves as the game faded into half time. The first half on the whole though was poor and devoid of quality.
The second half could only get better, and Wycombe started it with more impetus. Mooney just firing wide from a Betsy cross early on.
Wycombe continued to press the visitors and Bloomfield should have done better from a Stockley cross, his weak header going well wide.
Grimsby introduced top score Peter Bore on 57 minutes but his arrival did little to brighten up the Mariners.
Despite having most of the ball Wycombe continued to struggle in breaking down the Grimsby defence, who were getting men behind the ball and defending well as a unit.
Will Antwi perhaps should have put them ahead though when substitute Chris Palmer whipped in a low, inviting corner, the centre-back just couldn't get anything on the ball.
From nowhere though, Grimsby took the lead, Nick Hegarty found himself in acres of space in the box and squared a ball for Gary Jones who tapped in from five yards.
Wycombe fired back soon after though, Golbourne embarked on a mazy run and fired a left foot thunderbolt into the top corner from 20 yards.
Grimsby were dealt another blow soon after when last man Tom Newey fouled Easter and was given his marching orders.
